Upper Norwood clergyman 'could die behind bars'
after admitting string of child sex offences.

 

A clergyman from Upper Norwood was a paedophile who ran a pro-circumcision group, a court heard.

Vernon Quaintance, who was 71 on Wednesday, admitted a string of offences against five boys as young as 11 that he had met in the 1960s and 1970s.

Quaintance, who was a member of Catholic society the Order of Malta, accumulated an archive of vile images as recently as 2011, Southwark Crown Court heard.

He has served as a sacristan in the church in the Hospital of St. John and St. Elizabeth, north London, where the 'Order' conduct their masses.

Quaintance was a leader of the Gilgal Society [Brian Morris, of Australia, is also a member], a group claiming to promote male circumcision and “Its benefits in terms of health, sexual satisfaction and self-image”.

He dodged jail in 2012 after he was found guilty of possessing nine hours of child pornography on video tapes.

What is circumcision?    

Every day in this country, more than 3000 infant males are strapped to a circumcision board, against their will to have their penis irreversibly altered for life.
Amputation of a newborn's health foreskin is the only contraindicated surgery for which the patient does not consent. It is an unethical practice.
Parents often consent with incomplete knowledge of anatomy or surgical consequences.

Tragically, many infants (who we know feel pain acutely) receive no anaesthesia.
The baby's arms and legs are restrained. A probe is inserted between the glans and the foreskin and the two structures are torn apart.
The foreskin is crushed and a cut is made in it. It is then pulled forward and amputated.
The raw glans is then totally exposed, which, along with the remaining inner foreskin, eventually becomes dried membrane and leaves the shaft skin taut and immobile.

This "Little snip" removed from 50 to 80% of the sheath's structure.
A permanent, visible scar remains.

This violation of body and human rights robs the male of his birthright:
an intact, fully functional penis.

The map, created by Jonathon Conte of the Bay Area Intactivists, depicts the varying rates of infant circumcision state-by-state in the U.S. today.

Rates are from 2009-2010 hospital statistics obtained at MGMBill.org, where readers can find references to original statistic sources.

The state with the highest rate of forced infant circumcision during the
2009-2010 year was West Virginia (86%) followed closely by Michigan and Kentucky (both 85%).

The state with the lowest rate of infant circumcision during the same period was Nevada (11%) followed by Washington (14%).

Medicaid continues to use tax dollars to fund unnecessary infant circumcision in the majority of states each year.

For a procedure that’s been around for thousands of years, there sure is a lot of debate about circumcision.  To many, it’s a deeply ingrained rite.

Some see it as a way to prevent potential health problems, and to others it’s an unnecessary, invasive procedure that can pose very real risks.

Highly anticipated national guidelines on circumcision are expected soon from Canada’s top association of paediatricians.

Some doctors suspect it may reverse its earlier position and follow the lead of the American Academy of Pediatrics by supporting, for the first time, the health benefits of circumcision.

Biggs and Mollen Anger Fans With Their
Celebration of Son’s Circumcision.

 

Jason Biggs and wife Jenny Mollen proudly announced to the world via social media that their son was circumcised yesterday.

 

The celeb couple have been criticised heavily for circumcising their baby Sid, as well as happily celebrating the event on Instagram.

Mollen uploaded a photo of the couple with their young bub post-op with the caption: “Today was not a good day to be Sid’s penis."

 

The first-time parents were also happy to share that they had baby Sid’s stem cells stored by Cryo-Cell with an Instagram post from Biggs’ account.

Criticism from their Instagram followers has been incessant.

One user commented: “Hopefully, Sid grows up to hate his parents for what they have done to his penis, against his will. Harsh!"

 

Mollen and Biggs, however, seemed undeterred. They posted another photo of the family of three cuddling under a blanket, with a caption making a joke about Sid’s circumcision and the family dog Teets.

 

The caption read: “Right after we decided not to bury the foreskin in our backyard for fear that Teets might find it and bring it into the bed to sleep with us. That’s so Teets!"
