“It’s curious – and revealing – how few persons think about
circumcision… At one point in writing this essay I looked through
the shelves in our biological laboratory library, through books on
the senses, on neurophysiology and neuroanatomy, some of them
medical textbooks.
I was looking for what new information there might be on sensory
responses from the glans penis and foreskin.
Neither of those words was in the index of any of those books.”
