The word frenulum on its own is often used for the frenulum of prepuce of penis, which is an elastic band of tissue under the glans penis that connects to the prepuce, or foreskin to the vernal mucosa, and helps contract the prepuce over the glans.

In the event of frenulum breve or frenular chordee, or to ensure that the glans can be freely and completely exposed, the frenulum may be partially or totally removed.

The frenulum and the associated tissue delta on the underside of the penis below the corona has been described in sexuality textbooks as "very reactive" and "particularly responsive to touch that is light and soft."

The “underside of the shaft of the penis, meaning the body below the corona” is a “source of distinct pleasure.”

Does Circumcision Cause Erectile Dysfunction?

The United States, a nation with 4.5% of the world's population, consumes 47% of the world's Viagra (Pfizer's own figures). Turns out the same nation has been circumcising the majority of its male infants for generations.

A new study in the International Journal of Men’s Health shows that circumcised men have a 4.5 times greater chance of suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED) than intact men, revealing what appears to be a significant acquisition vector.
Other studies have previously observed that circumcision’s damage results in worsened erectile functioning, inability to maintain an erection, and reducing the glans sensitivity, including an overall penis sensitivity reduction by 75%.
A recent study discovered that premature ejaculation is five times more likely when adjusted for erectile dysfunction and circumcision.

Moreover, in Israel- a country that routinely circumcises their baby boys for religious reasons - Viagra is so common there that the Pfizer pharmaceutical company asked for permission to market Viagra without a doctor's prescription - making it an over-the-counter medication.

The truth is, you simply cannot change form without altering function.
While there are immediate dangers and harm caused by circumcision, there are also other problems that may not arise until much later in life.
One of these dangers is erectile dysfunction (more commonly known as ED).

One of the major reasons that circumcision can lead to ED is because of keratinization. The glans (or head) of the penis is intended to be an internal organ, protected by the prepuce (foreskin).
When the foreskin is removed, the head is completely exposed to the elements, including a constant rubbing against clothing.
Over time, the skin thickens to protect the glans (much like a callous forms in areas of excessive friction). The head becomes dry and thick and is no longer supple and moist.

As men grow older, the thickened skin of the glans becomes less and less sensitive, which can cause men to have issues with erections.
Sensitivity loss is also contributed to the circumcision itself, which removes the majority of the specialized nerve endings in the penis (over 20,000).

In a new “listicle” posted on its website this week, The Huffington Post outlines Eight Things America Gets Wrong About Sex.

From health care to homophobia, the piece covers a range of historical and sociological reasons for America’s sexual dilemmas.

It speaks to just about everything, except anatomy. And what’s one thing about American sexual organs that’s unique compared to much of the rest of the world? That’s right - routine male circumcision.

It astonishes me that in talking about sex, pretty much nobody mentions that most adult men in the United States today have been deprived of the most pleasurable, sensitive part of their penises.
Without a foreskin and its sensory feedback, a man has difficulty controlling the timing of his orgasm.

Also, because he’s missing the very organ that serves a gliding and lubricating function - and because he has a scar where his foreskin used to be - his penis is calloused and dry, when compared to that of an intact man; this creates a friction during intercourse and compromises the pleasure of both sexual partners.

Don’t believe me? Then explain the uniquely American proliferation of lubricants and masturbation creams, the existence of which many Europeans - most of whom are intact - find strange.

What is astonishing is that American doctors persist in a practice designed to ruin the natural pleasures of sex, and then deny that it in fact does so. Meanwhile, the vast majority of adult American men are living with scars instead of foreskins.
Half of the couple is missing a most basic, sensual part of his anatomy, and we wonder why Americans find sex less than fulfilling.

Each and every single day, thousands of innocent, helpless, newborn baby boys are taken into an operating room, strapped onto a restraining table, arms and legs firmly bound, and literally have their penises 'skinned alive'.

First, surgical instruments are used to tear the skin loose from the head of the penis.  This delicate, highly-innervated,  extremely erogenous tissue is then peeled back from the helpless baby's tiny penis, like ripping a fingernail off a finger.

The peeled-back tissue is then placed in a vise-clamp, and the tissue is crushed for approximately 10 to 20 minutes, while the baby screams in abject horror, his poor body twisting and convulsing from the pain. 
His tiny heart nearly explodes as his heartbeat soars to a staggering two hundred or more beats per minute.

Then, as shock begins to set in, his breathing stops and his body turns blue. 
A doctor then takes a knife and amputates all this exquisite tissue from the baby's penis, forever altering that innocent child's life.

There are no painkillers, no sedatives, no anesthesia - the baby is wide awake through the entire horrific experience.   All the while, the unrelenting, inescapable pain permeates every fiber of that little baby's mind. 
If he's one of the more fortunate ones, he'll lapse into a comatose, catatonic state as his body shuts down while trying to escape the bombardment of his senses with unimaginable pain.

After the amputation, there are no sedatives, no painkillers, no magical soothing ointments, lotions, or salves. 

His tiny, bloodied, nearly-skinless penis is a giant open wound - raw, bleeding, and extremely painful - and it is left in agony, to 'heal itself' over the course of the next several weeks or months.

And while the penis heals, each and every time the baby urinates he is subjected to incredible pain, as the ureic acid comes in contact with the exposed flesh.

This 'procedure' is euphemistically refered to as a 'simple circumcision'.

 

Every year more than a million and a half helpless baby boys are sexually mutilated in North America. 
These children have the most private and personal parts of their bodies amputated for the sole purpose of depriving them of their natural right to experience the exquisite range of sensual pleasure God intended them to have.
 
All other excuses put forward in the hopes of justifying this butchery, whether medical, religious, or otherwise, are lies designed to perpetuate the mutilations.

How in the world did we ever come to a place where male genital mutilation is not only completely accepted as a societal custom, but also embraced as a religious practice?!
Truly, it is regarded as a rite of passage into this world of pain and suffering.

It’s like, after the baby boy is born, as if that’s not traumatic enough, he is then forced to suffer the excruciating pain and shock of having a very important piece of his body cut off … from the most sensitive part of his body, no less!
Just who is it (or who was it) that determined that the male genitalia was somehow flawed by the Creator?

What in God’s good name is going on here? Millions throughout a whole society …an entire civilization have been stampeded into cutting off the foreskin of infant boys.

As though such a horrendous surgical procedure is without pain and AWESOME consequences.
 
Mothers especially, please know that this is NOT a pretty picture at all.
How could it be?   The mother’s basic instinct is to always fiercely protect their newborn, as well as their young children.

So, let’s get busy with the facts as opposed to the terrible disinformation, misinformation and false information put out by the medical establishment and religious groups.

First and foremost the foreskin of the male penis serves a very important purpose; that is to protect and lubricate the head of the penis.

From a sensitivity and vulnerability standpoint, can you imagine how much more exposed such an organ is when it is stripped of this vital skin covering?

Currently, circumcision is not universal among Jews either inside or outside the United States.

The Circumcision Resource Center, a non-profit educational organization, knows of hundreds of Jews in Europe, South America, and in the United States who either have not or would not circumcise a son.

Even in Israel some Jews do not circumcise, and there is an organization that publicly opposes circumcision.

The purpose of this article is to coherently explain a few of the contemporary reasons for the increasing doubts some Jews have about circumcision.
Then I will apply Torah law and Jewish values to these reasons.

The increasing doubts about Jewish circumcision are based on the understanding that it causes harm.
Anatomical, neurochemical, physiological, and behavioural studies confirm what mothers already know: infants feel pain.

Drs. Anand and Hickey, in a comprehensive review of recent medical literature on newborn pain, conclude that newborn responses to pain are "similar to but greater than those in adult subjects."

This study is accepted by virtually all medical authorities and is often cited in the literature whenever there is a discussion of infant pain.

As a surgical procedure, circumcision has been described as "among the most painful performed in neonatal medicine."

Studies of infant responses show that the pain of circumcision is not like that of a mere pin prick.   
It is severe and overwhelming.

UK: DOCTOR PROSECUTED FOR F.G.M.

Female Genital Mutilation:
Doctor Becomes First to Face Prosecution for F.G.M.

A doctor at a major London hospital has become the first person to be prosecuted in Britain for female genital mutilation, prosecutors said today.

Dr Dhanoun Dharmasena is accused of committing an offence under a 2003 law on a woman who gave birth at the Whittington Hospital in north London in November 2012.  The hospital has specialist services to help women with FGM.

The woman had already been mutilated and it is alleged that the doctor “repaired” the FGM previously performed on the patient and carried out further FGM, according to a statement by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Alison Saunders, the director of public prosecutions, said: “Having carefully considered all the available evidence, I have determined there is sufficient evidence and it would be in the public interest to prosecute Dr Dhanoun Dharmasena for an offence contrary to S1 (1) of the Female Genital Mutilation Act (2003).”

A second man, Hasan Mohamed, who is not a medic, has also been charged with encouraging an offence of FGM and aiding and abetting Dr Dharmasena to carry out the act, said Ms Saunders.

The pair will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on April 15, 2014.

Prosecutors said they had also looked at four other cases.

Human Rights Group Says
All Circumcisers Should be Arrested.

A San Diego based human rights group, MGMbill.org, called for all circumcisers to be arrested after a Ridgefield, Washington, man was charged with assault for attempting to circumcise his eight-year-old son with a kitchen knife.

The boy’s 33-year-old father, Edwin Baxter, said he was inspired to cut off part of his son’s penis after reading the Bible.

I commend the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office for bringing assault charges against the perpetrator of this crime, said Matthew Hess, President of MGMbill.org.  

But what about the more than one million other boys in this country who are circumcised each year without their consent in hospitals and religious ceremonies?

The rights of those boys are violated just as grievously as the rights of this frightened eight-year-old boy in Ridgefield.”

Hess continued by saying that the U.S. uses a double standard when it comes to circumcision. We have a blatantly discriminatory circumcision policy in this country, said Hess.

Doctors and mohels who circumcise girls are thrown into prison, but if those same doctors and mohels circumcise boys, they are rewarded with a pay cheque even though circumcision impairs sexual function in both genders.”

With both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association advising against circumcision, more people are questioning why the sexually damaging procedure is still being widely performed on baby boys who cannot give their consent.

A bill proposal circulating in Congress called the MGM Bill (Male Genital Mutilation Bill) would amend current law to add protection for boys, but it has yet to find a legislative sponsor.
